Senior Low Volume Rate and On-Premise/Backyard

Do you qualify for the SENIOR CITIZEN SOLID WASTE LOW VOLUME/ON PREMISE RATE PROGRAM?

1. Is the applicant 62 years of age or older and resides at the service address?  (Verification of identity may be a California driver’s license or State of California Identification Card.)
2. Is the account in the applicant’s name?
3. Is the applicant producing no more than 26-gallons of garbage per week?

ON-PREMISE COLLECTION PROGRAM – Milpitas Sanitation, Inc. may grant on-premise collection for garbage, recyclables, and yard trimmings for people with physical limitations if there is no caretaker or other resident living on property that is able to place carts out for curbside collection. A description of the physical limitation and verification is required to complete application. (A copy of a current DMV issued disabled placard or recently dated doctor’s letter are common examples of proof of physical limitation.)

The completed application and verification may be submitted to Milpitas Sanitation via email, fax, mail, or in person at our offices. Verification of identity may be a California driver’s license or State of California Identification Card.

* Senior citizen billing status and free backyard service are subject to periodic evaluation and are not a permanent, binding status agreement between Milpitas Sanitation and the subscriber. Milpitas Sanitation reserves the right to require those subscribers holding senior citizen status/on-premise collection to provide verification of eligibility upon request. It is the responsibility of the subscriber holding senior citizen status/on-premise collection to notify Milpitas Sanitation of any status change.
