PRE-PAYMENT: MILPITAS SANITATION REQUIRES PREPAYMENT FOR THE USE OF SPECIAL EVENT BINS.
Please select number and type of special event bins size(s) and submit form to Milpitas Sanitation for approval/processing.
A 1 cubic yard bin can hold the contents of approximately 6 32-gallon containers. Decide how many bins you will need for each commodity by determining how many waste stations (containers you provide) you will have and how many times they will be emptied during the event. For example: Two 3-container stations empties three times = the contents of 18 32-gallon containers.
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
-Consider the site layout. Place waste stations where guests have easy access to them. It is a good idea to provide waste stations at each entrance/exit, near bathrooms and food venues.

-How many guest will be there? How long is the event?One 3-container waste station can service the needs of approximately 50 people per hour.

-Will food be served/available for purchase at the event? How many food stands will there be? Be sure to include Food Scraps and Food-Soiled Paper containers.

REMEMBER: Customer provides their own waste station containers. Bins are for the collection of the customer-provided containers during/after the event.

TIP: A 32-gallon recycling container holds 120 aluminum cans or 100 water bottles. One 32-gallon food scraps container can be used for every 50 people.
