How do I pay my bill?
We offer various convenient payment options for our customers. You can easily manage your account and make payments by logging in to your account portal at https://myaccount.wcicustomer.com/ You may also pay with a debit or credit card directly over the phone by calling 408-988-4500 and customer service will be happy to assist you. If you would like to mail a check, please reference your mailed bill for further instructions.
Can I throw away batteries in the garbage?
Place A, AA, AAA, C, D & 9-volt batteries inside a clear plastic zipper-lock style bag. Tape terminals on lithium and 9-volt batteries. (No car batteries allowed.)
Place on top of your blue recyclables split cart for pick up on your collection day.
How can I rent a dumpster?

Is there a senior discount?
A senior discount is provided to all Milpitas Residents 62 or older. An application is required and may be filled out at https://www.milpitassanitation.com/ under Single Family Service-Service Forms. Please be advised of the following:
• The applicant must be 62 years of age or older and must reside at the service address. (Verification of identity may be a California driver’s license or State of California Identification Card.)
• The account must be in the applicant’s name.
• The applicant must produce no more than 64-gallons of garbage per week.

Why is my first bill more than the monthly charge quoted to me?

What time should I set my trash & recycling carts out?
Service is between the hours of 6am and 6pm. Please ensure that you leave your carts out during those hours. You may also set your carts out the night before.
What is considered E-waste?

While roll-off services are prepaid, they are independent of our regular trash service. We do not mandate having our trash service to utilize our roll-off services. What debris is considered "construction waste"?
C&D waste is the discarded material generated from construction and/or demolition projects. Common C&D discarded materials includes concrete, wood, drywall, and other building materials.

How often is recycling picked up?
Residential recycling is collected every week. Please visit Pickup Schedule - Milpitas Sanitation to enter your address and view a calendar of your service.

Someone is illegally dumping in my container, who do I contact?

Is there a military discount?

How do I get my broken cart repaired/replaced?
To address an issue with your lost or broken garbage cart, please log into your account at https://www.milpitassanitation.com/ and submit a Broken Container Request under Service Requests. One of our customer service advisors will reach out within 24 hours or sooner to promptly assist with the issue. Please be as specific as possible when filling out the description portion and ensure you choose the correct type of cart i.e. Garbage, Recycling or Yard Waste.

Please note that if customer requires a full cart replacement more than once per year, a charge of $106.61 will be charged. If a customer requires a service level change for cart service more than once per 12-month period, a charge of $70.46 will apply.
Do you sell containers?
No, we typically provide containers as part of our service.
I have extra trash I would like to set out tomorrow. Is there a charge for that and what are the guidelines?

Where should I set my trash carts?
Please leave the carts at the curb until we’ve emptied them. Our trucks can arrive at different times each week.
Place your carts facing the street with wheels against the curb (if possible).
Leave 3 feet between each cart (if possible).
Do not place carts too close to parked cars, fire hydrants, low-hanging branches, and other obstacles.
Do not overload your carts. The lid should close completely.
